The richest art fair ever held in the Middle East featuring modern and contemporary masterpieces as well as Arabian art including calligraphy and sculptures by leading Arab artists worth more than US$400 million will be exhibited and offered for sale at ArtParis-Abu Dhabi, marking the UAE capital's confirmation as the arts and culture capital of the region. The fair is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. With the globally-famous Andy Warhol stylized portrait of Marilyn Monroe expected to sell for 4 millions US dollars and Picasso greats on view, ArtParis-Abu Dhabi is set to become one of the international art world's greatest events. Organised by leading European art specialists, the event takes place at the Emirates Palace hotel from November 26 to 29 and a total of 45 blue chip European and international art galleries will take part. With artworks priced from as little as US$2,000 upwards to 4 millions dollars, ArtParis-Abu Dhabi will attract a wide spectrum of local and foreign buyers who are either major collectors or simply enjoy fine art in their homes. It will also include informative seminars on art appreciation and how to invest in art. Art collectors from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE, Egypt, Oman, Lebanon and across the Arab world are planning to attend. Many of the most valuable and comprehensive art collections in the world are in the hands of collectors from the Middle East region. Royal families and high net worth families and individuals have built up some of the most impressive collection in the world, yet it is hardly known that they exist due to the discrete manner in which they have been established.
