The art of Mosaic

Asta Pruess is a Wiltshire artist specializing in mosaics on canvas and digital prints derived from these original mosaics.

Asta, 42, was born and raised in Lithuania where she attended the Kaunas Institute before re-settling in the UK in 2000. Her work has been influenced by many years of her own practice of yoga & meditation - mosaic artwork, by nature being a very patient and introspective activity.

Asta says of her work: 'Archetypal images have their own power and vibration. Mosaics have a history going far back in time, and I feel I enter that space when I work. The palette of colours I create in the pieces are waiting to be chosen, and there is an intuitive process involved with the forming of the images and patterns.'
