Saadia
Zaman, after graduating from the University of Karachi, Pakistan, moved
to Canada and then to Dubai where she studied print-making.
Saadia finds inspiration in Islamic calligraphy and the architectural
features of the Middle East. Her work is multi-dimensional, the immediate
impression is one of richness, the shimmer of gold and silver leafing,
the vibrancy of the inks, and tactility of the exquisite hand-made papers.
She frequently uses foils in combination with different inks, powders,
pastels, and acrylics. Her artwork is a fusion of many techniques such
as etching, collographs, and chine colle.
